Gel Nail Remover
What you will need:
- Cotton balls (5)
- Nail file
- Pure acetone
- Nail buffer
- Orange stick (Wooden or Metal)
- Foil squares (10)
File the nail. Use a coarse nail file to scratch the surface. You want to break through the clear top coat in order to allow the acetone to seep down to the polish below.
Soak your nails. Tear the 5 cotton balls in half so you have 10 pieces total. Use the acetone to soak the cotton balls. Once that is done, lay them on the nail. Wrap your foil square around the finger and let it sit. Once you have finished wrapping your fingers, let it sit for 7 minutes. Do one hand at a time.
Pull the wrap off. DO NOT UNWRAP THE FOIL AS YOU MAY NEED IT AGAIN. Use the orange stick to scrape the gel nail off. The gel should fall off with ease. If there’s some that seems hard to remove, put the nail back in the foil wrap to soak longer.
Once you've removed all the gel color, you’ll most likely be left with little bit of a spotty clear layer. That’s where the primer and first clear coat meet. Unfortunately, this does not come off with the acetone. You will need to wash your hands thoroughly, then take your nail buffer and smooth it out.
