What you will need:
- Foot Tub or Basin
- Warm water
- 1 tsp. of Tea Tree Oil
- Witch Hazel
- 1/2 cup of Epsom Salt
- Comfy Socks
- Pastel Colored Nail Polish
- Diamond File
- 1/4 cup of Honey
- Glass File
- 1/2 cup of Milk
- Cuticle oil (or coconut oil)
Step 1: Prepare the foot tub
Prepare the foot tub by filling it half way with warm water. Ad 1/2 cup of Epsom salt, 1 teaspoon of tea tree oil, a few drops of rosemary, a capful of witch hazel and 1/2 cup of milk.
Step 2: Soak
Remove old polish and soak feet for 10 minutes. The epsom salt rejuvenates while the rosemary freshens. The tea tree oil kills bacteria and witch hazel cleanses and tones. The lactic acid in the milk loosen the dead skin.
Step 3: Scrub
Scrub your feet (please refer to the sugar and lemon body scrub posted earlier in this section). Add 1/4 cup of honey to your mixture and use the natural sugar scrub to exfoliate dead skin cells. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
Step 4: Buff
Buff out those calluses and corns using a diamond file. (Avoid using a porous pumice stone because it can trap bacteria). Focus on the balls and heels of your feet, as well as any other rough areas. Wipe away any residue before moving to the next step.
Step 5: Moisturize and Massage
Moisturize and massage those tootsies. Use your favorite foot cream or moisturizing lotion. Massage your entire foot as you rub the lotion in. Continue doing so for 2 minutes on each foot.
Step 6: Attend to your toes
Care for your cuticles. Apply a drop of cuticle oil on each toenail and rub it in. Gently push the cuticle back with an orangewood stick. Clip your toenails. File them straight across and round the edges using the glass file. Polish with your pastel colored polish. (If you notice your toe nails are slightly greasy from the oils used, you can use nail polish remover on the toe nails prior to polishing.) Allow to dry for at least 30 - 40 minutes before performing the final step.
Step 7: Lock in moisture
Apply Vaseline all over your foot to your ankle. Put on a pair of socks you can sleep in. Remove the socks in the morning.
Do not rush this process. Take your time and relax!
